How to claim your income protection benefit
If you get ill or injured and have to stop working, you’ll want financial help fast.
The quickest and easiest way is through your online dashboard.
Before you get started, take a moment to check a few important things:
- Pre-existing conditionsIf your claim is linked to a condition you already had before taking out your policy, it may not be approved. Make sure you’re claiming for something new and unrelated to your medical history.
- Medical evidenceWe’ll need proper medical documentation to support your claim. This could include a Med3 certificate (after the first week) or other reports from your healthcare provider.
- Check your documentsYour dashboard includes important policy documents. Please review them carefully—they explain how the claims process works and what’s required.
Log in to your dashboard to see exactly how to claim.
How to claim on your life insurance for terminal illness or death
Whether you are claiming after being diagnosed with a terminal illness or your loved ones are claiming after you have passed away, the process starts online.
There are three different claim forms:
If the death occurred while out of the country, you must complete both a death claim form and a death abroad form.
Once the correct forms have been completed and submitted together with any documents we ask for, your claim will be assessed. Needed information might include:
- The name of the person who has passed
- Your relationship to them
- Cause of death
- Policy number (if you have it)
- Your contact details
If your claim is approved, the payout will be made by bank transfer.
During life's toughest moments, at least claiming is easy.
